Trust and Issues
Dominick had been paging through books in the hospital lobby when Matthew had decided they both needed a break. Dominick agreed and headed home to shower and change clothes. That's when he had heard William's message, and all those feelings about Emily flooded back again. He sank to the floor, resting his head between his knees until the house stopped spinning. Then he called William back and left a voice message explainging he too had seen a loved one, and that they should get together soon and talk.
Dominick had no sooner hung up the phone then it rang again. It was the hospital. Kris was gone.
He searched through the house, only belatedly realized that Eddie was not around. And Kris car was not in the garage.
He sat in his chair for a moment to gather his thoughts. Should he go after her? Was she safe? Perhaps she just needed some time to sort things out. He'd give her a day, two tops, but then he'd have to go after her. For now, he'd trust her. He knew his slayer well enough to know she wouldn't do anything stupid. She could handle herself.
Dominick picked up the phone a third time and dialed Hayden's number.
Hayden,
It's Dominick. Kris checked herself out of the hospital and it's pretty evident that she came here and grabbed Eddie and took her car. I'm sure she'll be fine, but I thought you should know. If you hear from her, would you please let me know? If neither of us have any contact from her in a day or two, however, I think we should go after her, just to make sure she's okay. Um, thanks, and I'll call you if I hear anything else.
Dominick hung up the phone and gazed out of his window for quite sometime. Once his mind was made up, he grabbed his leather jacket and hopped back into his car.
He'd find Emily if he had to search every back alley in Vegas.
