December had finished packing her stuff and was stepping outside for a smoke. She didn't smoke very often, just sometimes, and in her current weird state of affairs, she kind of needed one. She flicked her zippo with the decorative barbed wire design on it, and lit her cig, then blew the smoke out in a long blue breath. She leaned against the building and looked around herself at the vast nothing that was this place.
Jade walked out of his room, locking the door firmly behind him. He pocketed his key and rubbed his neck, not conscious that he was doing so. He glanced around, mentally prepared for trouble. Seeing nothing unusual, he started walking along the concrete path to the parking lot.
December looked up at hearing sound, and her eyes fell on that cute guy she'd seen before out the window. She smiled a little in the dark, wondering if he was going to come nearer.
Jade plodded along, not sure where he was going. He just felt the need to get out of the room and do something. He sighed softly, and as he was about to clear the building, his shoulder hit... a girl. Dark-haired, slim, smoking a cigarette. "Sorry," he said. "Didn't see ya."
She smiled up at him in that slow practiced way that she knew was suggestive. "It's alright." she told him. "Didn't hurt."
Jade flushed red underneath his bruises. He never quite knew how to deal with girls like this. "Good," he muttered. "Wasn't meant to."
Blushing. Well that was cute. She normally saw flushed guys when they gave her a look over and decided they wanted to spend a little grunting time, blushes were a rarity. "You look like you're a little beat up though." she said, reaching up to ever so lightly brush at a bruise on his neck. She wasn't sure if she should do her usual with this one or not. He was hurt...maybe she'd just take enough to stave off the shakes.
Jade flinched at her touch, not really intending to. He stared down at her, wondering what exactly she was after. "Yeah," he said, his Southern drawl pronounced as it sometimes became when he was tired. "Had a rough week."
She noted the flinch and smiled, voice a little bit of a purr. She didn't lay it on as thick as she could, just hinted at it. "Hey, I won't bite." she said. "You look like you could use a drink."
Jade fidgeted, stuffing his one uninjured hand into his pocket. "I guess I could. I'm kinda new in town and I'm not sure where to go to get one."
She laughed. "I'm new to town too, not sure I'm staying, but I think so...cheaper here than in Vegas...I saw a bar somewhere...um..." she looked around, trying to orient herself. "That way." she pointed.
Should he go with her? He didn't typically hang around with seductive strangers. Eh, why the hell not? Not like he had a lot of options. He began walking beside her.
December smiled as he fell in step. She could tell he was a little uncomfortable. Cute. Also...she couldn't put her finger on it but something was kind of...drawing her to him. And not just the idea that she'd get what she needed out of him later. She brushed it off as weirdness that seemed to be going around lately like herpes, and finished her cigarette, flicking it off onto the street when she was done. "So you going to stay around here?" she asked, glancing at him out of the corner of her hazel eyes.
Jade couldn't look at her; sadness crashed over him like a wave. There were no words to describe what it was like to be trapped here, no way to explain. Finally he said, "Yeah," shrugging his shoulders slightly.
She raised an eyebrow and looked more fully at him. "Jeeze, hon, you look like someone just ran over your puppy, what, you don't like it here either?" she asked, wondering what she'd just witnessed.
"Not sure if I do or not." Jade watched his feet. One in front of the other. "I just got here."
"Well watch out for the weirdos." she muttered, walking up to the door and opening it. "Drinks're on me." she said, something she normally didn't do, but...well, she was planning on draining the guy and leaving him in his hotel room, hopefully for him to think he'd passed out drunk, and she was maybe feeling just a little guilty about it because he looked so lost and hurt. ...she wasn't used to that.
Jade looked around as they walked inside. Average bar decor. "I have money," he said. "You don't have to pay my way." He seated himself on a stool.
She sat next to him and smiled at the bartender. "Sex on the Beach." she ordered, then turned that little suggestive smile on him again.
Jade figured he had turned a red not found anywhere in nature. What was this girl doing? "Rum and coke," he told the bartender, his voice husky.
She waited for her drink. "So...got a name?" she asked, tasting her drink when she got it.
"Jade Deveraux," he said, then took a larger gulp than he should've. He coughed and wiped his mouth. He stole a glance at her. "You are?"
She smirked at the cough. "December Trent...nice to meet you, sugar."
"December," he said. "Interestin' name." Something about her made him feel completely tongue-tied.
She laughed. "Not really. My birthday's in December, guess my mom wasn't one of the worlds best thinkers."
"I never met a December before," he said, managing to look at her. He traced a finger around the edge of his glass.
"Well now you have." she said, smiling. "I don't think I've ever met a Jade before either, so we're both in for something new."
Jade finished his drink, probably too quickly. Was it the alcohol or her words that made him feel warm down to the pit of his stomach?
December knocked on the bar and nodded to Jade's empty glass, ordering him a second. She sipped at her own. "...so what happened to you?" she asked, reaching out to brush a black painted fingernail along a bruise on the back of his hand. "Fall down the stairs?"
He shivered slightly. "Nah. It's a really long story." He watched her from underneath heavy lids. "Suffice to say I've been doin' a bit of fightin'."
The corner of her mouth lifted and she raised an eyebrow. "You're a scrapper then? You the kind that picks random fights in bars just to see how good you are?" she asked.
"I don't fight just to be fightin'," Jade said, lifting his drink and sipping. "Like I said, it's a long story." He smiled crookedly to soften his words.
She eyed him a long moment. "...maybe you're one of those types that just lives off the adrenalin." she observed. "For the rush of it."
Jade snickered, the liquor loosening him up somewhat. "Maybe I got good reasons," he said softly, leaning a bit closer. "But if I told ya, I might have to kill ya."
She laughed at that too, giving him a sly smile. "Now that's a line I haven't heard outside the movies. Sounds kind of secret agent like."
"Bond. Jade Bond." He snickered. Damn, he should drink more often.
December smiled at that, laughing again. He was cute. A little lame maybe, but cute. "Ok, so you're secret agent man who's gotten beaten up, and is for some reason in this town. Mysterious."
"You don't wanna know all my secrets right away, do ya?" Jade asked. "Where's the fun in that?"
"Oh not at all. I'm just saying you seem to be a man of mystery." she said, not mentioning the fact that she'd said next to nothing about herself either. "Though, I'll of course have to work at it. Which might require you to stay in town."
Jade finished his second drink. "I don't guess I'm goin' anywhere." He shook his head at the bartender; no, he didn't want another.
December finished off her first drink and looked a little pouty at the him not having another. "You're done already?"
"Been awhile since I drank," Jade said. "I think I've had plenty. Doesn't mean you can't have more."
"But it's no fun to drink alone." she said with a sigh, though ordered another for herself anyways. "And besides, planning on operating heavy machinery tonight or somethin?"
"You're not alone," he pointed out. "I'm still sittin' here." He smirked at her. "Tryin' to get me drunk so you can take advantage of me?"
She smiled her seductive smile again. "Maybe." she said with that purr tone. "Think I have a shot?"
Keep lookin' at me that way and you'd have a shot at anything I got, he thought. He was still flushed but he wasn't sure if it was from the booze or her proximity. He just smiled.
"Well that's encouraging." she said, sipping at her new drink. "So...tell me a story." she said, turning towards him and crossing her legs, putting full attention on him.
"A story?" he asked, watching her red-lipped mouth caress the rim of her glass. "What kinda stories do you like?"
"Surprise me." she said, watching him, paying attention to details as she studied him. He moved like he knew how to handle himself, like he knew the exact dimensions of his own body and acted accordingly. She couldn't imagine him being clumsy ever. His hair was a little shaggy, probably needed a cut, but not to the point where it looked bad at all, could be a practiced haphazard, but she couldn't be sure.
"Once upon a time," he said, "there was a guy who moved to a strange town. This town was stranger than most towns. Then he met a girl who was very beautiful and who liked drinks with very... excitin' names." He raised an eyebrow at her.
She broke into a more genuine smile but quickly switched it back to the more suggestive one. "Sounds like my kind of story. What happened to them?"
"They drank, an' they talked, and then they decided to vanish into the night, together," Jade drawled softly. "An' what happened next? Well. That story is still bein' written."
"Well you've got me hooked." she said, finishing her second drink. She felt just the touch of a buzz. Tolerance she had.
Jade pulled his wallet out and slapped some money down on the bar. He turned to December. "You done, or are you havin' more?"
"I think I'm done." she said. "More interested in other things at the moment."
A slight smile tugged at Jade's lips. "Shall we?"
She nodded, and hopped down from the bar stool, smoothing out her short skirt and she boldly slipped her arm through his, mostly just to see what kind of reaction she'd get out of it. She made sure to press her chest lightly against the back of his arm in the process.
Jade had had just enough to drink to lose the outer layer of reserve. He chuckled softly and caressed her fingers with his.
"Lead on." she said, purr in her tone and eyes saying quite clearly that the leading could be right back to his room, preferably so, in fact.
They made the short walk back to the motel in record time. Jade fumbled his room key
into the lock, acutely aware of her pressed against his back. Damn.
While this was pretty far off of her normal mode of doing things, it wasn't turning out so bad. In this small of a town...she hadn't had the opportunity to do her normal thing...guess people here weren't all that interested in picking up someone for prostitution...but this was ok. She'd just have to work on transportation to get back to Vegas to do her norm again, get back on schedule...but as quick fixes went? This one was pretty fine. She made sure she stood too close to him, and she ran a hand along his shoulderblade through his shirt. Boys were just too easy sometimes.
The room was dark. Jade closed the door behind them and turned to face December. He felt her moving closer to him, and he looked down at her, not sure what to say. This sure as hell wasn't his norm.
She stepped up close, looking up at him and she smiled in the dimness. She reached out to tug suggestively at the bottom of his shirt. It was really difficult to try to undress someone when they were unconscious. Dead weight and all. Normally she didn't bother with it but she'd had to on occasion, and in this case, she'd have to. She very well may see him again, and she didn't want the 'hey what the hell did you do to me' question asked. There were subtler ways to do this.
Jade helped her out, pulling the shirt over his head and tossing it to the floor. He rested his forehead against hers, using one hand to trace the delicate curve where her neck met her shoulder.
She reached out and lightly put her hands on his stomach, fingers shaking just a little. Damnit...they started... she thought to herself, her sense of urgency kicking in. If only that guy hadn't scared her so bad, she wouldn't have had to....but it was too late now. To try to hide the shaking, she hooked her fingers into the tops of his pants and pulled him a little closer.
Jade kissed her teasingly, then pulled back. He put one hand over her trembling ones. "You okay?"
Kissing...December gasped a little. She didn't usually do that. She'd tease and she'd cut to the chase and just...do her thing, she hadn't been in a situation like this in...well in a long long time, and she wasn't that old. She swallowed, trying to slow her shaking though knowing full well it wasn't possible. At least it wasn't overly horrible yet. "...Sorry...just a little..." she trailed off. Let him fill in the blank. "I'm ok." she assured him, putting certainty into her tone, and she set to work on his pants, trying to get the button undone.
Jade closed his eyes, savoring the feel of her cool fingers on his bare skin. He slid his hands under the back of her shirt, pulling her slightly closer.
She went willingly enough, and finally got his pants undone, and she pushed them over his hips, starting to push him back towards the bed. Even in the dark she could see the bruises on him. Whatever he was hiding, he'd gotten the living shit beat out of him.
Jade backed up, kicking the pants away as he went. The backs of his calves hit the bed and he sat down, then lay back, gently tugging her with him.
She went with, actually taking the consideration to try to not hurt him in the process, though she didn't really want to delve into the reasons why. She laid out next to him, drawing her fingernails up his side, then she pushed herself up to hover over him a little. She smiled, and kissed him, a rather passionate one, again not bothering to view her motives, then she started kissing down his neck...closer to where she needed to be.
Jade's breathing accelerated, and he tilted his head to give her better access. His hands twined in her hair.
She drew closer, nipping just a touch at his neck with her teeth, then she shut her eyes and did what she had to. Opening the chakra point was painful for a heartbeat, and afterwards was just a rush, as she drew out the energy he had stored inside, life force, chi, whatever you wanted to call it. She felt the shaking stop nearly immediately, and she started to warm to the touch, though...she didn't draw as much from him as she did others. She didn't drain him of what he had completely, just enough to sate her and to knock him out. He probably needs the sleep anyways. she thought to herself, pulling back and she looked down at him. She just stared for a few long moments.
Jade twitched slightly, his breathing evening out, his awareness gone.
She sighed. "...thanks." she said quietly, also something she didn't normally do. Then she pulled the covers back, and repositioned him on the bed, covering him up. "...sweet dreams." she said, and headed out, glancing back over her shoulder once before shutting the door.
