"Is it going to hurt?" Judah's voice was quiet and uncertain as he and Julie made their way to the mineshaft he'd first appeared in. He was wearing his own clothes again, the jeans and T shirt she had bought for him left behind at her place. Every now and then, his fingers would pluck nervously at the fabric of his coat. "I suppose I trust your Mr. Jerzyck, who seems quite insistent that he knows what he's doing, but this isn't like anything I'm used to. I don't know what to expect."
"I'm not exactly an expert at Time-travel myself Judah," Julie replied sympathetically and gave his arm a squeeze, "the experience I had wasn't painful, but definitely disorienting."
Here she was, this time sending a man she cared about away rather than them leaving on little or no notice. But it was the right thing to do, she kept reminding herself. Judah belonged in 1900, and deserved to have a rich full life.
Julie spotted Oliver at the entrance to the mineshaft, and her grip on Judah's arm tightened for a moment before letting go completely "There he is."
