| Meeting the new guy. |

"Meredith, it's incredibly good to see you," Bruno, the seven foot Mulix demon who was The Green Room's one and only bouncer said to the brunette as she bypassed the entire lineup and approached him from off the street. "It's been a while."
Forty odd people stood outfront of the popular nightclub. Meredith walked by them as though none of them were standing there. "It's good to see you too, Bruno," she told the bouncer with a smile as he stepped aside to let her enter. The demon towered over her, menacing muscular build and large black horns. His yellow eyes were penetrating, and his mouth full of razor sharp fangs. The Mulix appeared incredibly intimidating, and as deadly as his species was, Bruno actually happened to be a pretty nice guy.
It felt odd, coming back to the club for something other than business as usual. After Elian's death, Meredith had remained scarce. As things slowly began to drift back to normalcy, however, re-finding her niche inside the Nightclub's emerald walls had been a slightly daunting process. But for the first time in what seemed like forever, Meredith had decided to show up at The Green Room for no other reason than to have a drink, spend some quality time with Lorne, and to just have a good time.
Really, that's what the good old days were all about.
Those days she truly missed.
Meredith had found the inside of the club the way it always had been; A passable vocalist on the mic doing their best rendition of god knows what, the dancefloor jumping, thumping, and pumping, and Lorne somewhere in amongst the people being the social butterfly that he was. But then, there was also that one little thing that had changed the brunette's picture of nostalgia: The new bartender.
( Congenial introductions. )
He grabbed his glass again and drained it dry this time, set it back in its cubby with a sigh. "Is this night over yet? I like it here, but I'm starting to feel like my feet are made of cement!" He looked down at the shoes that were normally extremely comfortable and shook his feet out one at a time with a soft grunt.
Meredith gave him a sly wink. "I know that feeling all too well," she told him. Waiting tables under this roof was definately a lot harder than it looked, especially when your clientele were mostly inhuman with mostly inhuman temperments to match.
A polite smile was given to Ryan as Meredith turned her head around and scanned the crowd behind her. Lorne was spotted and eyecontact was made. The demon waved at her, and rolled his wrist around to beckon her to join him. Meredith gave him a nod and turned back to Ryan. "Well, the demon calls," she told him with a grin as she stood and lifted up her glass. She used her free hand to throw her bag over her shoulder. "It was nice to meet you. I think you're going to end up doing just fine here."
One last smile as Meredith turned and made her way towards Lorne, her brown curls bouncing with every step as she disappeared into the crowd.

Samantha’s arm hurt more now than it did before she had the bullet taken out.
She knew it was because Rocky had to open the wound a bit more to get the bullet out, but it was about as annoying as the mystery of the flu shot. Every time the Slayer had gotten a flu shot, the actual sticking of the needle in her arm didn’t hurt, but the next 24 hours left her shoulder sore and stiff.
So much so, it cost her a slay once.
But that was neither here nor there, as the Slayer was mere hours from having to bring Edmund to her oh so favorite vampire in the whole wide world, Grace. Samantha didn’t really care how the whole thing went down, as long as somewhere in the equation there was a call for Grace to turn into a big pile of lifeless dust.
That part would be much fun.
But she had to see boss man first. Levi had left her note a while back giving his help for whatever she needed—at the time, bringing in a Wolfram & Hart lawyer on murder charges. Sam still had that in mind, but she also wanted to see what, if anything, he’d have when it came to dealing with a vampire pest.
So clearing her throat to help herself block out the dull ache in her arm, Sam tapped lightly on Levi’s door. “Lieutenant?”
( What can one touch with a ten-foot pole? )
“I think we can have her in custody by the end of the week,” Sam said, standing with a sigh. She glanced at her watch, painfully aware of how little time she had before she had to hand over some hobbling old geezer to some vampire bitch in desperate need of spring cleaning. “I’ll let you know when I hear anything.”
The Slayer turned to the door, stopping and glancing over her shoulder at Levi. Her mouth twisted into a sideways grin, darkness twinkling in her eyes. “Something tells me this is gonna be fun…”
