Business Talk [13 Oct 2006|09:51pm]
[ mood | tired ]

After Officer Levi had left, Chloe was even more restless then usual. She went back out onto the back porch but could not for the life of her find the coffee cup she'd left out there when Levi had knocked at her door. She finally shrugged and decided that she must have put it in the kitchen before getting the front door. At that, it was decided, and she forgot about it.

A few phone calls later to her lawyer, and then an attempt at a nap left Chloe feeling more drained then earlier. The day was coming to an end as the shadows darkened and the shade deepened in her yard.

She watched some TV blankly for awhile and then got up and snatched her keys off of the counter. In no time she was in her mustang, heading for Searchlight.
Nyx was at the bar, but he wasn't working. He was sitting at a table on his own, watching the silent television as the locals started to trickle in with the setting of the sun. He had a bottle of beer in front of him, as well as a half eaten burger and some fries.

Not that he was really hungry or anything, but his mind had been playing tricks on him recently and he decided a night out of the apartment would do him some good.

Jo had grumbled at him a few days before about her keys turning up in his chair, but he didn't know anything about it. For himself, the remote to his stereo had completely disappeared.

He glanced at the ceiling, as if the answer might be there. Of course, it wasn't but who cared? His eyes went back to the TV and he took an absent drink from the bottle before him.

Chloe parked her mustang in a slot close to the entrance of the Lighthouse. She locked it with the remote and then sighed as she looked at the bar. She wondered if they served food, because she'd forgotten to eat that day.

She pushed open the door and squinted into the bar. It was nice enough. She'd been afraid it would be one of those shady places, but then realized Nyx hadn't seemed that sort. And she could smell grease, which meant they served food. Her stomach actually growled. Glancing around, she wondered if she should sit directly at the bar and order dinner before inquiring about the owner, or take a table?
