Later Isn't Always Better. [11 Nov 2005|10:01pm]
[ music | Dido - Hunter ]

Jo had been keeping busy with the bar and trying to not concern herself with the nearly literal deal with a devil she'd made to get herself and that girl out of the grasp of the vampire who'd intended to torture possibly both of them to death.

The more time that passed though, the more skittish she became because it seemed to her that a deal like that would be taken advantage of immediately. But had it been close to a month already?

She had totally been neglecting her computer, a layer of dust had dimmed the monitor to nearly unreadable and she had to wash it down after booting up before she could see any of the icons on her desktop to open a program. Specifically, her email. Once she got it loaded, the delete key gained a workout to make any Slayer sweat. She chuckled at all the spam lines as they scrolled past but paused at one that obviously was not junk.

As she read over it, her gut tightened and she shook her head repeatedly. That explained a few things, though not nearly enough. A sense of regret darkened her eyes as she looked at the date stamp on the mail and a sigh broke the silence of her office. Almost a month old, she wondered what, if anything, had been discovered since.

She clicked reply and sat with the blank mail screen in front her for a very long time. She knew very little of the large goings on right now and decided that because of the deal she'd made, it would currently be best to keep her mouth shut. She closed the email without typing a word, closed the mail program itself and shut down the computer.

A cigarette was lit and boots that were covered with desert dust and spatters of spilled alcohol landed on the desktop with a light thump as she smoked and thought in near stillness.
