Happy Birthday to the Bestest Watcher Ever. [13 Oct 2004|03:57pm]
William sat quietly in his chair, reading his book and singing quietly to himself. This looked like his best birthday in a few years. He finished the book, and closed it. He didn't have another one ready, and so clicked on the TV, and began channel surfing. Finding The Twilight Zone on, he sat back and began to watch the episode where Burgess Merideth was the little man who wanted to be able to read and have all the time in the world

Destiny walked in from her shift at Emmy's shop. She dropped her keys in the little basket on the table by the door and put her stake in the wicker container beside the table. Destiny walked into the den and was greeted by the voice of Rod Serling. Ah. My Watcher's awake. She tiptoed into the room and hugged Will's neck from standing behind his chair. "Hiya."

William jumped just a little, and smiled, leaning back into the hug a bit. "Good afternoon Destiny. How was your day?"

"That would be perfect. Thank you, Destiny. No Watcher could expect a better Slayer." He reached up ands squeezed her forearm companionably.

Destiny grinned. "Ditto." She hugged him again and went into the kitchen, turning on the mini TV in there to the Food Network. Spooky music entwined with the sounds of cooking made a strange but pleasing melody to her ears as she turned on the water to the spaghetti.

I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing. I mean this thing with William, if it's even a thing. I don't know. It could get me into a lot more trouble than I'm used to but there's something about him that makes me comfortable. We're friends, I know that much but there's this strange electricity between us.

Maybe it's just me? I should not be making connections, I should not be forming ties. I'm here to do my job.

But I've never been this conflicted before, never have I wanted to do something so against my nature. This town is having strange effects on me and I doubt it's something I'm fighting too hard.

Anyways, I need to get back to work. I need to visit that station again and see if they'll let me look through their old case files. This ought to be fun.

Paz walked down the darkened street, tailing a vamp. Her hair was loose and down around her shoulders, and she was clad in a casual pair of jeans and a black long sleeved shirt. She had a stake concealed by the shadows, and her posture suggested that of utmost concentration as she moved stealthily and quietly through the night.

And then we saw what the vamp was walking toward. The waifish girl with long dirty-blonde hair. Standing there in a black miniskirt, fishnet stockings, clunky black combat boots, a tight white tank top, and a black spiked collar around her neck, Gwen gave the perfect "unsuspecting victim" look, sighing dramatically.

Shopping [13 Oct 2004|07:49pm]

Tristan had sort of heeded Rhiannon's advice. Oh, he wouldn't stop killing. His ways would not change. However, all the eyes seemed to be focused on Searchlight, so this fine evening he found himself in Vegas.

He had been watching the store for several hours. At two minutes to closing, when he was certain there were no other customers and just the lone owner inside, Tristan entered the public shop.

The owner rolled his eyes and glanced at his watch, which didn't escape Tristan's attention. Guess the guy didn't like the fact that he had a late customer.

Tristan browsed at several of the black jackets before he found one very similiar to his old leather jacket. It felt nice under his fingers. He put it on over his broad shoulders and smiled. "Yes, this is it."

The owner smiled as Tristan kept the jacket on, walking around the store liking how it felt. He decided to be of service afterall. "That looks great on you sir! Here, have a look." The owner tilted the mirror towards Tristan, gasping when no reflection appeared. His head turned sharply, giving Tristan a surprised look. Tristan just grinned, his hands by his sides.

The owner was confused. He glanced back at the mirror, and then back at Tristan. The look on Tristan's face frightened him. He took a step backwards, and then another. He just knew he needed to get away.

Tristan flew across the room with ease. It only took moments before the owner became a dried shell, as Tristan feasted on his life, his blood.

When he had drunk his fill, Tristan stood up and stretched. Then he casually made his way back to the front of the store. Before stepping out into the night, he nonchalantly turned the sign so that it read CLOSED in the leather shop.

Once outside, he buttoned the jacket up and gave a glance up to the starry sky. The night was still young. Perhaps he'd break his new jacket in with a few more kills.

I've Had Better Days [13 Oct 2004|10:12pm]

Sleep Deprivation )

I think I'm warming up to Tyler.

He's not as cocky as he was when we first met, I like that. Anyways, it was nice to see him even if it was for a brief moment. Some human contact is better than none, all I've had is Eddy for company. He's cute and I love him but he isn't the best conversationalist. But yeah, it was nice to see him. I think I'll be ringing in sick to work and seeing if I can attach myself to my bed so I can sleep without wandering.

Really don't want to wake up to a face full of sand again. Not three mornings in a row.

So....it looks like I have a girlfriend. At least I think I do. I hope so. I mean, we never technically said, but I think so. She kissed me at any rate. And I kissed her back and I think we scared off some hapless tourists in Vegas with our making out on a bench in public. Not that I care. So....that to me suggests girlfriend. I'm overthinking things. But she's just so....beautiful. And strange in that good way that makes me shake my head and laugh a lot.

//firewalled from everyone//
And she makes my heart ache in that good way and I have to watch her sleep. I haven't been able to fall asleep since we got home, I think wrecked a few things in the livingroom from lack of paying attention to where we were going, then finally made it to bed. Which...I really hope she doesn't expect me to go back to sleeping upstairs. I don't want to. I like sleeping here, even if I'm not sleeping. She looks content though. She hasn't even whimpered in her sleep yet so I call that a good sign. Finally, a night without nightmares for her. I can hope I had something to do with it. Though right now, I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't have nightmares...assuming I could get over this stupid giddy feeling long enough to sleep. Today I just don't mind though. Here's hoping that I can get over being a big moron about things. I'm not very good at this stuff. I haven't had much practice. I'll have to wing it I guess. Hopefully she can put up with me. Cordy aside, the only other girlfriend I had was Tracy, and we broke up not long after my other memories were restored...she'd noted a change, and the nightmares didn't help, especially when once she went to wake me up from one while I'd been napping at her house, and as an automatic reaction, I just...had her pinned with a hand to her throat, before I was even fully awake. ....But I don't want to think about that. So on to other topics.

Like now that she's in my life I'm starting to get that...feeling again. Like I don't know what I'd do if she wasn't in it anymore. It's kind of scary...but at the same time I can't seem to stop smiling.

//end firewall//
I'm not sure what's happening to me here. I hit town, and things have been changing since the first night. Am I...home? Such an alien concept to me. But I'm finding the things you find in a home. Friends. ...that 'l' word that I'm not specifying yet. Good things. ...I should get some rest though...besides. I think someone needs snuggling before she wonders where her pillow's gone.
